The Kaduna State Government has condemned a deadly attack on Naridon Village in Kamaru Ward of Kauru Local Government Area, north-west Nigeria, which killed several people and destroyed property. The attack occurred in a border community between Kaduna State and Ganawuri in Plateau State, underscoring continuing security concerns in the region.

In a statement signed by the Kaduna State Commissioner for Information, Ahmed Maiyaki, the government described the attack as tragic and unacceptable. It said security agencies had been directed to intensify operations to identify those responsible, arrest them and ensure they face justice.

Governor Uba Sani extended condolences to the families of those killed and prayed for the repose of the victims’ souls. He also wished those injured a speedy recovery.

The governor further instructed the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA), the state’s disaster response agency, to provide immediate relief materials and humanitarian assistance to families affected by the violence.

The statement reaffirmed the Kaduna State Government’s commitment to working closely with the Plateau State Government, security agencies, traditional institutions and other relevant stakeholders to strengthen security cooperation along the Kaduna–Plateau border.

It said the joint effort aims to restore lasting peace and improve the protection of lives and property in communities that have experienced recurring security challenges.

The government also appealed to residents to remain calm, vigilant and law-abiding. It urged communities to support security agencies with credible information, reject violence and embrace dialogue as a peaceful means of resolving disputes.

Kaduna State reiterated its commitment to protecting all communities within the state while working to sustain peace, security and social harmony through continued collaboration with neighbouring authorities and security partners.
